MPLM, Mobile base (MBS)

The MBS provides a mobile platform and storage station for astronauts during spacewalks. The MBS is equipped with four electromechanical terminals, so it can simultaneously serve as a base for the Canadarm2 and for the specialized Agile Manipulator. Since it will be mounted on a US-made mobile transporter, the MBS will be able to move these key elements to the required workstation by sliding the transporter on a rail system installed across the width of the Station.
